The first tender for the truck fast-charging network at unmanaged rest areas along the federal motorways was published on 16.09.2024. The tender focussed on the planning, construction and operation of fast-charging infrastructure for battery-powered trucks and buses at approximately 130 unmanaged rest areas. The tendering process has ended.
Funding under the 'Publicly accessible charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in Germany' funding guideline (2017–2020) (BMV) is also being provided as part of the German Recovery and Resilience Plan (DARP – Deutscher Aufbau- und Resilienzplan) via the European Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) under the NextGenerationEU programme.
