GB31241-2014 "Safety Requirements for Lithium Ion Batteries and Battery Packs for Portable Electronic Products" is mainly for mobile electronic products that are not more than 18kg and are scheduled to be carried by users.
Compared with GB/T 18287-2013 and other standards, GB31241-2014 pays more attention to the safety of lithium-ion batteries, except GB/. T18287 requires external short circuit, overcharge, over discharge, low pressure, temperature cycle, vibration and other test items.
The selection of materials, design, and processes in the production process of lithium-ion batteries and battery packs is crucial to their safety. Examples of quality control in the production process can be found in Appendix A, and design and manufacturing processes can be referred to in Appendix B.
